Yes, things are quite hectic there. In addition to the tsunami and earthquake, they have nuclear plant issues to deal with. Quite a sudden onset of things to deal with...hopefully enough support can be generated to quicken the process of the rebound, although it won't be an easy process.
As long as the word is spread (which is hard to NOT know, but still) and donations are made, everyone can pitch in some support in some manner.
