Zorro's trademark is just the single letter "Z", and Zorori is patterned after that particular character. The double Z on Zorori's costume is a bit of a parody (or even an allusion, if you will) to Zorro.
The series is full of such references to other famous figures, so I imagine this is the case for this particular costume design. It seems highly plausible. The trend is to slightly alter the names/symbols of something widely recognized to use in the show, and this is certainly no exception.
