In this episode, you can see that Soucho and Minarai take a very hot bath (hot spring). Some people may have been aware, it is one of the traditional Japanese customs that men must endure such a hot bath to show his manliness. This custom still remains, especially in the Tokyo area. In a western movie, there sometimes is a scenery that a boss of the gang comes to a bar, and that he gulps down a glass of straight bourbon whiskey. It may have something in common with expressing his manliness.
