The crc of the file does not match the tag. I downloaded the file from MU and checked it against the torrent. The torrent says it's okay, so these files at least match.
The tag says: 245567896 the file's crc = 61538325. What's the story on this?

Check it with quicksfv. For the life of me I don't know why but once in a blue moon a file will refuse to generate a sfc no matter what I do. I use mirc to generate the checksums but sometimes it just whines and complains that the parameter is incorrect no matter which way the file is named or what drive it is on etc.

That and my ISP blows chunks, on a regular basis the uncorrectable errors on the modem goes into the tens of thousands an hour and the ISP is disinterested in tracking down the problem. A friend torrents the files for me so they get sent directly to him and aren't crc'd with utorrent until then.

Ouch, that's annoying, a modem and isp like that..

I use AOM and avdump2 to get the crc and check the files against the AniDB database. If the file match the crc tag and isn't in the database yet I add them. It's a nice enough system to keep track of which group is doing what and which crc/ed2k/md5 hash corresponds to the latest version.
You can also use rapidcrc if quicksfv is giving you a hard time.

btw, it seems that whomever copied in the crc copied in the filesize in stead.
